Bearpowered athlete Kayla Sanchez almost pulled off a quadruple winning performance in the Nevada State Championships!
Kayla won the 100m, 200m, 300m hurdles, setting some stadium records along the way. Her effort in the long jump was less than 3 inches off the winners mark, costing her a sweep of the 4 events she participated in.
Could she have performed better?
Not one to make excuses…Kayla had some problems that might have sidelined most other athletes (Strep throat the prior week, foot injury on the day of competition), but she mastered the problems and came up with some excellent performances.
Kayla not only has some meets left later in the season, but she has another full year of high school track to go!
Watch out for this star in the college ranks in 2009!
