Renee Henderson was an early purchaser of Underground Secrets To Faster Running and has been kind enough to keep in touch with me concerning her training and competition.
I recently received the following email from Ms Henderson:
Hi Barry,
Hope you remember me. I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you that I just came back from the World Masters Championships in France and guess what ? I won!!
Yep, I won the 60m in 7.78 which is a new American record. I got faster as the rounds went on. I ran 7.91 in the trials, 7.87 in the semis and 7.78 in the final
I also won the 200m in 25.34. This is also a new American record. I coasted a 26.89 in the trials, ran 25.61 in the semis and then 25.34 in the final.
Not bad for times for a 43 year old mother of three huh? !!
Lucky for me it was a pretty warm winter and i was able to train on the track outside. However, I STILL can't deadlift twice my weight. What a weakling i am compared to the females in your hall of fame!! I have only gotten to 240lbs. Can't wait to see what I can do Outdoor season if i can manage to get up to 265lbs for that deadlift!! (I weigh 132lbs).
